Sugar Scrub Benefits

What is sugar scrub used for? And what are the sugar scrub benefits?

While there are a number of sugar scrub benefits, one of the main pros to using sugar scrubs is that they are an incredible exfoliator.

Making your own DIY product and reaping the sugar scrub benefits is surprisingly simple, so don’t be tricked into purchasing an expensive alternative.

In addition to exfoliating, sugar scrubs also can moisturize skin and help give it a natural glow without any harsh chemicals or other ingredients.

Honey Benefits for Skin

In addition to the exfoliating properties of the sugar in this homemade face scrub recipe, there are also plenty of honey benefits for skin as well that make this scrub so beneficial.

For one, raw honey can help balance bacteria on your skin — making it a great treatment for acne and breakouts.

Honey also has the ability to reduce inflammation while being a gentle, natural exfoliator.

While there isn’t quite proof of the efficacy of using honey to lighten dark spots like acne scarring, this is still another popular use for raw honey in many natural recipes, too.

Even if there isn’t a direct connection, the natural exfoliating properties of raw honey are still likely to leave you with brighter, healthier looking skin overall.

Lemon Benefits for Skin

While the jury is still out on the benefits of honey for lightening skin issues like dark spots and acne scarring, lemon juice is a more widely accepted natural solution thanks to the acids it contains.

Lemon juice also has astringent qualities that can reduce inflammation, making it another quality ingredient for naturally treating breakouts.

Lastly lemon juice also of course contains Vitamin C, which is known to help fight signs of aging.
