Truth be told, I'm a total skincare addict. Whether it's a new bubbling face mask or a magical serum, I'm constantly trying new products and perfecting my routine. Even with constant experimentation though, transitioning seasons and adapting your regimen can be challenging. After all, each new weather rotation brings a whole different slew of potential skincare woes -- and ain't nobody got time for that.
Luckily though, I've been testing lots of products lately and have cooked up the perfect fall routine. Here's the essentials:
Anyone who knows me well knows that I like to treat myself. Often. Whether it's by shamelessly investing in those shoes I've been eyeing for weeks, ordering cookies to my doorstep at 10 p.m. after a rough day, or simply drawing up a hot bath, I believe in the power of self love. So why not treat yourself and your skin at the same time? That's why I love the e.l.f. Hydrating Bubble Mask. It comes out as a gel and then bubbles up a few minutes after you put it on your skin.
It's so much fun.
Not to mention, it removes excess dirt and cleanses pores. Love it. I also like that it's a hydrating mask, which is perfect for the increasingly cooler weather. There's nothing worse than dry skin!
Oxy Rapid Spot Treatment is my absolute go-to when I'm dealing with some serious pimple probs. I apply it to new blemishes every night and also make sure to coat places where I get recurring acne as well, even if it's already on the mend. This is actually the only spot treatment that I'll use, because it doesn't dry out my skin (unlike every other kind I've tried). Though I use this spot-treatment year round, it's a fall essential since it's so gentle on skin, which tends to become more irritated as the cooler weather approaches!
I love my body scrubs, and Extracts Mango Sugar Scrub has been one of my favorites for years. I actually bought it on accident when I was a freshman at college because I couldn't find my favorite brand in the bookstore. Little did I know that I would actually end up liking this one better! It not only smells amazing, but is super moisturizing. So, if you're worried about dry skin just grab a tub of this sugar scrub.
Another way to stay hydrated this season is with Vaseline Intensive Care Advanced Repair Unscented Lotion. I stumbled upon this brand last winter when I was have major skin issues, and it was the only lotion that actually moisturized my skin without being too greasy. I also surprisingly like that it's unscented, because for some reason it makes me feel like it's a bit stronger and more purposeful than some of the fragrance heavy creams that sometimes just seem to be used as a rub on perfume, not a moisturizer.
