Staying fit in college isn’t easy. There’s temptation after temptation (late night pizza & wings binge, anyone?), not to mention the challenge of balancing coursework, a job, and a social life. I was lucky enough to avoid the “freshman fifteen” my first year at school, though this was mostly due to the fact that the only edible food in the dining halls happened to be salad and other veggies. However, I have cultivated a workout routine that has worked wonders for me over the past few years and that I look forward post grad as well.

Weekend Bites: My Favorite Hydrating “Piña Colada” Smoothie

I won’t lie, I’ve been on a bit of a sugary/greasy food bender for the past few (!) weeks.

[Hence why I told ya’ll about my plans to join a gym stat, here.]

Since finals week, my girlfriends and I have been livin’ it up on Wendy’s frostys & fries, cheese balls, coconut cake, + basically any other nasty-ass food you can think of.

It’s gross. I KNOW.

I never put on the freshman fifteen, so maybe it’ll just be the senior 15 instead, all compounded in the two weeks prior to graduation, haha! #cantescapeit

The Easiest, #CleanEating Approved Breakfast You’ll Ever Make

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: I’m not a big fan of breakfast. There’s just something about it that rubs me the wrong way.

It also probably doesn’t help that I really hate eggs.

That being said though, I do love my antioxidant-rich pomegranate avocado toast and the occasional batch of banana pancakes. I recently whipped up a few fluffy, vegan (minus the honey I drizzled on top) ‘cakes, and they were so good that I knew I just HAD to share with you guys.

Oh, and I topped them with my favorite 3-ingredient raspberry chia jam. So yes, I’m definitely a breakfast eater when I make these babies.

The Best 3 Ingredient, Skinny Peppermint Hot Chocolate

The holiday season isn’t over quite yet, but I’m already starting to look towards 2017 and my New Year’s goals. I feel like dieting and getting in shape is completely overdone. It’s just boring, you know? I’m all for getting healthy, but 80 percent of these NY’s resolutions are abandoned by just February.

Done. Over it. Bye.

Instead, I’m jumping on the mindfulness boat. We can all be a bit more conscious and aware, especially when it comes to our health. No fad diets or workout programs for this chica. My resolution is as simple as being aware of what I’m putting into my body and the energy that I’m exerting each day while also practicing conscious decision making. I’m notorious for making unhealthy snap decisions, just so that I can get that instant gratification. That’s what I’m trying to improve in the new year.
